Install Experiment Engine and finish setup

Experiment Engine runs A/B tests on your store and compares the versions by profit, not just conversion. It is its own Shopify app: it runs in your Log Studio Lab account and Shopify bills it on its own.

1. Install Experiment Engine from its Shopify App Store listing, and approve the permissions. It reads products, orders and themes, and creates discounts and tracking for your tests.
2. Open the Setup tab. The guide says: Three checks and your first test. Nothing here asks for a card.
3. Work down the list: Connect your store, Turn on the app embed, Check tracking, Add product costs, Create your first test, Invite your team and Choose a plan.
4. Select Create test when the checks pass.

• Switch between Freebies Engine and Experiment Engine with the product switcher in the sidebar. The Experiment Engine sidebar has Overview, Tests and Setup, plus Settings.
• The guide re-checks when you come back to the tab. You can build a draft before the embed and tracking checks pass; launching needs them.
• If your online store is password protected, shoppers cannot see tests until it is open. A development store is fine.
