When a bundle component runs out
What counts as out of stock for a bundle, the warning in your offers list and the editor, and the setting that pauses a bundle until stock returns.
A bundle can only be bought if shoppers can get every part of it. When a part cannot be bought, the app tells you and, if you ask it to, pauses the bundle until the part is back.
What counts as out of stock
- A classic bundle needs every listed item. If one item cannot be bought, the bundle is out of stock. If you chose variants, each listed variant is its own item.
- Mix & match and the bundle builder page need at least one buyable product in each item or step that has a minimum.
- A product cannot be bought when Shopify says it is not available, when it tracks stock and has none left while the continue-selling-when-out-of-stock option is off, or when the product is not active.
- If the app has not synced a product yet, it is never reported as out of stock.
What you see
- In the offers list the bundle shows A component is out of stock with a View product link to the product in Shopify admin.
- In the bundle editor, Setup has a Stock section with the same warning and links to each product that ran out.
- On the storefront the bundle's add button is disabled and sold-out options are marked, so shoppers cannot add a bundle you cannot fulfil.
Pause a bundle automatically
In Setup, Stock, turn on Pause this bundle when a component runs out. It is off by default. The bundle is paused when a component runs out, the offers list shows Paused: a component is out of stock, and the activity log records why.
- The bundle goes live again by itself when every component is back in stock.
- It only resumes a bundle the app paused. If you pause a bundle yourself, or edit it after the app paused it, the app never turns it back on.
- A bundle also stays paused if resuming would go over your plan's live offer limit or the offer's end date has passed.
