Sales Pop: show recent purchases

Show a small card that says who bought what, built only from real recent orders. Choose what it shows, publish, and turn on the app embed.

Sales Pop shows a small card in the bottom corner of your store with the product photo and a line such as who bought it. It is built only from real paid online orders. If there are no recent orders, nothing shows.

Set it up

  1. Open Mini apps, then Sales Pop, and create it. Each store has one Sales Pop.
  2. In Message, choose the place (city, country only or none) and the sentence.
  3. In Recent purchases, choose how far back to look, from the last 6 hours up to the last 7 days, and check the purchases that would show.
  4. In Timing and Look, set when and how it appears, including its position and the close button.
  5. In Placement, use Open the theme editor, turn on Sales Pop under App embeds and save the theme, then select Check my theme.
  6. Publish. An admin does this, because the card can show real customers' first names.

Publish, pause and roll back

Shoppers see the last published version, never your draft. The bar at the top of the editor shows whether Sales Pop is not published, live or paused, and flags Changes not published when your draft differs from what shoppers see.

  1. Select Publish. After the first publish the button reads Publish changes.
  2. In the review dialog, check Required before publishing. Each item that is not done has a Fix link that closes the dialog and opens the tab where you fix it.
  3. Confirm with Publish or Publish changes. Shoppers see it on your store within a few minutes, and the bar shows Delivering to your store until it arrives.
  • Pause takes it off your store and keeps your settings and published versions. Resume brings back the version you last published; it does not publish your draft.
  • Versions lists the last few published versions. Roll back on a version puts it back in front of shoppers. Your draft is not changed, so publishing again brings your latest edits back.
  • Only admins can publish, pause, resume or roll back.
  • Publishing with first names on needs your confirmation that your privacy policy covers them.
  • When you publish, the app also checks your last 48 hours of orders so the card has something to show. New orders are added as they are paid.

Privacy

  • By default the card says someone in a city. Shoppers see a city, never a name.
  • First names are an option. You turn them on and confirm that your privacy policy covers showing first names and cities of real customers.
  • Last names, emails, streets and zip codes are never shown.
  • Skip products, collections or tags where a purchase would be personal, such as health or adult items.
  • Shoppers can close the card, and it respects reduced motion.

Limits

  • One Sales Pop per store.
  • The card draws from up to 20 recent purchases.
  • Each card shows for at least 4 seconds and at most 15.

Billing

A mini app is billed through your Shopify subscription for the app. Shopify allows one active subscription per app, so your store has a single charge made of your App suite plan and every mini app you subscribe to. Only the store owner adds or removes a mini app, from its page in the app, and Shopify asks you to approve the new total. The price is shown on the mini app's page. Development stores use mini apps at no cost. See Mini apps: billing and ended subscriptions.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing shows: the app embed is off in your theme, it is still a draft, or there are no recent orders yet. Nothing shows until a customer orders, and that is expected.
  • A product should not appear: add it to the exclusions and publish again.
  • The card covers another widget: move it with the position and distance settings in Look.
  • Orders from other channels do not appear, because only paid online store orders count.

Common questions
