How offers stack: order and combining
Offers are checked from the top of the Stacking order. Learn what Stop lower offers and Can be combined with do.
Open Stacking order in the Offers menu. Offers higher in the list are checked first. Drag a row, or use the arrow buttons, then save. Drafts and paused offers keep their place; select Show all offers to see them.
Settings per offer
- On Schedule & limits, Stop lower offers means that when this offer applies, offers below it do not run. The page lists which offers that affects.
- Can be combined with chooses whether the offer combines with product, order and shipping discounts.
- Turning off a kind of discount stops that kind, from other apps, from you and from tests, in carts where the offer applies. Other carts are not affected. Review warns you.
- The Review step shows where the offer will run, for example the third of five live offers.
Does it work with discount codes?
Yes, by default. A shopper's discount code can be a product, order or shipping discount, and it stacks with your offer only for the types ticked under Can be combined with. With all three on, any code works with the offer. With some off, codes of that type do not apply together with it, and with all off no code does. Because Shopify treats your offers as one app discount, the most restrictive offer sets this for all of them. The Review step shows Works with discount codes for the offer.
