Boise: 29 miles of Greenbelt, 220 miles of foothill trails, and a kit builder plan that uses them

Boise Parks and Recreation says on its own site that it maintains 102 developed parks, approximately 220 miles of Ridge to Rivers trails in the Boise Foothills, 29 miles of the Boise River Greenbelt pathway and more than 5,000 acres of open space. Those are the city's figures, and they give a Shopify store that sells outdoor, fitness or gift products a concrete way to talk about a place: a kit built for a Greenbelt ride, a foothill hike or a weekend on the river. This page is a planning page, not a market report. The Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimate has Boise city at 238,429 residents, only 1.1 percent above its April 2020 estimates base, so it does not claim that the city is booming; and it does not claim a local brand scene, because no primary source supports one. What it does is show how to build a bundle that a shopper assembles step by step, using the city's own trail figures for the copy. The Greenbelt itself is being worked on: the parks site says the Greenbelt through Wood Duck Island will be improved in 2026. This is not tax advice.

A trail kit builder: three steps, one price floor

  1. Step 1: choose the activity

Give the shopper three starting points that map to places the city publishes figures for: a Greenbelt ride, a foothill hike or a park day. The parks department lists 29 miles of Greenbelt pathway and approximately 220 miles of Ridge to Rivers trails, so the copy can say which kit is for which kind of outing without inventing a distance.

  2. Step 2: choose the items

Let the shopper pick from a short list in each category, and cap the list so the worst basket still clears your price floor. A builder page that offers too many items produces a combination you did not price, which is the failure the mix and match post describes.

  3. Step 3: show the box

Show the final box and its price on one screen before the cart, and say what is in it. If any item is a food or drink, check how it is taxed in the state before you set the box price, because the state page owns the Idaho rules and this page does not cite them.

  4. Before the Greenbelt work and after it

The city's parks site says the Greenbelt through Wood Duck Island will be improved in 2026. Do not write a kit page that promises a specific open section of the pathway; link to the city's page instead and write copy that does not depend on a route being open.

Questions merchants ask

Where do the Boise trail figures come from?
From the City of Boise Parks and Recreation's own site, which lists 102 developed parks, approximately 220 miles of Ridge to Rivers trails, 29 miles of Greenbelt pathway and more than 5,000 acres of open space. They are the department's figures, undated on the page, so quote them as the city's own and do not present them as a survey.
Is Boise a fast-growing city?
The Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimate shows Boise city at 238,429 residents, 1.1 percent above its April 2020 base of 235,722. That is the city, not the wider metro area, and this page makes no claim about the metro.
Are there 2027 Boise events on this page?
No. Boise State's football schedule page showed no 2027 home dates when read on October 10, 2026, and the Western Idaho Fair's site refused automated requests, so no event date is printed. The page will take them when organizers post them.
What does the Idaho state page cover?
Sales tax rates, the grocery credit and the state's rules for sellers belong to the Idaho state page. This page deliberately cites no Idaho tax rule; read the Idaho page for them.

Offer ideas for Boise

The Greenbelt ride kit

A kit for a pathway ride: choose a bottle, a repair item and a snack. Write the box description around the 29 miles of pathway the parks department lists, not around a route.

The foothill hike kit

A kit for the trails the parks site counts at approximately 220 miles of Ridge to Rivers. Keep the choice list short so every combination clears your price floor.

A gift from the Basque Block

The Basque Museum & Cultural Center's site lists a gift store and a monthly wine club; a Boise store can learn from how a local museum frames a gift, without borrowing any of its products or name.

Boise publishes trail, park and Greenbelt figures from its parks department, so a direct-to-consumer store can write kit copy from city-published numbers and build a bundle shoppers assemble themselves.
