Show bundles as one card in the cart

By default a bundle shows in the cart as one card instead of a list of separate lines. The card has the bundle name, a picture, the variant and the quantity of each item, the original price next to the bundle price, and how much the shopper saves. Shoppers can edit the bundle from the card.

Turn it on

1. In your Shopify admin open Online Store, then Themes, then Customize.
2. Open Theme settings, then App embeds, and switch on Bundle Cart Card. Save the theme.
3. In the app open Bundle Builder, then Behavior. Under Add to cart, set In the cart to One card for the bundle.
4. Publish the bundle builder, add a complete bundle to your cart and open the cart.

The settings

• In the cart: One card for the bundle, or Separate lines, where each item shows on its own line.
• Card colors: Match my theme, or Choose my own to set the card background, text and accent.
• Card corners: Match my theme, Square, Small, Medium or Large.
• Show item pictures on the card and Show how much they save: turn either off for a simpler card.
• Label bundle items in the cart: adds the bundle's name to each item.
• Bundle items: Locked stops shoppers changing one item on its own, Editable lets them.
• Remove the whole bundle together: removing the card removes every item in it.

What shoppers see

Changing the quantity or removing the card applies to the whole bundle, so the items always stay in step. The bundle price shows only for a complete bundle.

Incomplete bundles

If some items of a bundle are missing from the cart, the remaining items show as separate lines with a short note that the bundle is incomplete. The bundle price is not applied until the bundle is complete again.

Why the bundle price can drop

The discount depends on the bundle being complete. If a shopper changes the cart so the bundle no longer meets its minimum, the price goes back to the regular prices. Adding the missing items brings the bundle price back.

Theme compatibility

It works with the cart drawer and the cart page of Online Store 2.0 themes. If your theme draws its cart in an unusual way, the card cannot be placed. The items then stay as separate lines, the discount still applies and nothing breaks.

Troubleshooting

• The cart still shows separate lines: check that Bundle Cart Card is switched on under App embeds, that the bundle builder is published and that In the cart is set to One card for the bundle.
• Only some items are grouped: the bundle is incomplete. Add the missing items or build the bundle again.
