Campaign-Only Codes for Shopify Stores
Give an email list or a creator a discount that works only from their link on Shopify: when campaign codes fit, how the template works and how to track them.
A campaign code is a discount tied to one channel. It works only when the shopper arrives from the link you sent, so a code that leaks to a coupon site does not become an everyday price cut.
When it fits
- You send an email or text campaign and want to measure what it earned.
- You work with creators or partners and want each one's sales to be traceable.
- You have been burned by a code that spread beyond the audience you meant.
How the templates build it
The code family has three templates, each for a different job:
- Campaign code is described as "A code that only works from a tagged link." Its example is a code that works only from your newsletter link.
- Bulk unique codes is described as "Many one-time codes, ready to export." Its example is a thousand one-time codes for influencers.
- Single code is described as "One code shoppers type at checkout."
Choose and measure
Campaign-only codes for email and creators explains how tagged links work and what to track. For one-time codes, Unique discount codes for creators and email covers the options. If you are unsure whether a code or an automatic discount is right, Discount codes vs automatic discounts sets out the difference.
When a creator promotes a code, the FTC's Endorsement Guides apply to how they disclose the relationship; the unique codes guide cites 16 CFR Part 255.
Will it work with other codes?
Yes, if you allow it. For each offer you choose whether product, order and shipping codes can stack with it. The review step says whether yours works with discount codes before you publish.
