One window per festival
Jazz Fest is two separate Thursday-to-Sunday weekends, April 22 to 25 and April 29 to May 2, with a gap between them. Schedule two windows, not one, so a banner is never live on the Monday in between.
New Orleans has a festival season with a hard start and a long tail. Mardi Gras Day falls on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2027, a date we computed from the day before Ash Wednesday because we found no city notice, and the festivals that follow publish their own 2027 dates: the French Quarter Festival on April 8 to 11, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival over two weekends from April 22 to May 2, and Satchmo SummerFest on July 31 and Aug. 1. For a Shopify store the useful fact is not the crowd but the calendar: each of those is a separate, dated window, and Jazz Fest is itself two windows with a gap between them. This page lists the dates as the organizers state them, adds what the City of New Orleans says about the Orleans Parish sales tax and its three extra economic development districts, and builds a plan for a storefront offers widget that shows only the offers that are live. It links to our Louisiana page for the state's remote-seller registration, so the parish rate here is a rate to look up, not a program to explain. This is not tax advice; confirm with the Louisiana Department of Revenue and the City of New Orleans.

List the offers you will run and give each one a start and an end: a Carnival offer, a French Quarter Festival offer, two Jazz Fest weekends and a Satchmo SummerFest gift. A widget that lists live offers only works if each offer has an end date.
Run the Carnival offer until the end of Mardi Gras Day, then switch it off in the widget so it does not outlive the date. Confirm the date against the city's calendar first, because we computed it from Ash Wednesday.
Schedule the French Quarter Festival offer for its four days and the Jazz Fest offers for the two weekends the festival's FAQ lists, with the gap between them left empty.
Add a small gift with purchase for the two days of Satchmo SummerFest, with a unit cap and an end time on Aug. 1.
Look up the rate for the delivery address. The city lists 10 percent for tangible personal property and three districts that add to it, and the Louisiana page explains how the Commission's registration applies to a remote seller.

End a Carnival offer at the end of Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2027. The date is computed from Ash Wednesday, so recheck it against the city's calendar before you print it on a banner.
Satchmo SummerFest is free and lasts two days, July 31 and Aug. 1. A small gift for orders placed that weekend, with a unit cap, fits an event that does not sell tickets.
The city's page lists a 10 percent combined rate and three districts that add 0.245, 1 and 2 percent. Do not hard-code one rate for New Orleans, and use the registration rules on our Louisiana page for how a remote seller applies it.

New Orleans packs a Carnival date, two jazz festival weekends, a French Quarter festival and a free summer festival into the first seven months of the year, each with its own dated window, so a store can run a short offer per event instead of one long sale.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' 2027 liturgical calendar lists Ash Wednesday on February 10, 2027 and Easter Sunday on March 28, 2027, so Mardi Gras Day, the day before Ash Wednesday, is Tuesday, February 9, 2027, a date we computed because we found no 2027 notice from the city.
